Original Watercolor by Doug Mort #1
Doug Mort was born in 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. He was in the US Army serving in the Korean War, then attending The Society of Arts and Crafts in Detroit, Michigan. His career path lead him to become a technical illustrator with the automotive industry in Detroit, and a watercolor artist for the love of painting. He spent much of his time enjoying Northern Michigan and Canada on numerous fishing, hunting and camping trips where he found much inspiration for his watercolor paintings.
This painting is certified as an original watercolor, signed by the artist. To note, he had a few ways of signing his art, but in his early life he signed with his last name "Mort". For whatever reason his later paintings were signed "Trom". Mort spelled backwards. He passed away in 2010 and left many original works which are being certified by his daughter, Michele Mort-Carter.
